Permissions are super important, somewhat awkward and really easy to forget. I'm always googling them which is why I'm writing this blog post for myself.

When it comes to Wordpress, this is the only rule of thumb you need to remember.

DIRECTORIES

All directories should be 755 or 750.

FILES

All files should be 644 or 640 except wp-config.php.

wp-config.php

The file wp-config.php should be 440 or 400.
